1956/57 the NonStop movie theater was founded and erected by Walter Haslacher (1908 - 1973, Father of the present owner Bettina Aichbauer) and was one of most modern Austrian movie houses at the time. Unique is the acoustics, considered by construction. Remarkable also the Fresco in the foyer by Franz Josef Karl Felfer (1927 - 2001) and the glass-wall between foyer and screening room. To date, the cinema is preserved in the original style of the fifties.
In the beginning the daily schedule started with two newsreels - then there was no television - followed by slapsticks, cartoons, nature films. The movies were repeated nonstop, visitors could come and go as they liked. The location was a common meeting place. Later on movies like "Bambi", "Bruce Lee", "Bud Spencer and Terence Hill" and "Zombies" were shown. By the end of the seventies, favored by location and demand, softpornos were presented, mainly German and French productions. Later pornostars like "Pussy Gallore, Ciciolina, Teresa Orlovski, Dolly Buster" were featured. There was a cafe with pinball and machine gambling connected and once again the Nonstop was an important meeting place. There are many people of Graz or Styria who know it or have been there.
By 2000 multimedia experiments were started. The tradition of musical accompaniment of silent movies was revived. The connection with porno, visual and performing arts, philosophy or religion is particularly appreciated by international artists and estimated as total art work. For the movie "Spew it out your soul", produced and shown by Peter Doherty, was stimulated by Bettina Aichbauer (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Doherty). Main focus is the union of film and music (Music clips, docus, visuals, vi'ing, youth culture, international artists). The Nonstop is a place for musicians as well as for people from the film section and interested audience.

Das NonStop Kino wurde 1956/57 vom Vater der heutigen Besitzerin, Walter Haslacher (1908 - 1973) erbaut und war bei der Eröffnung eines der modernsten Kinos Österreichs. Einzigartig ist die Akustik . Schon beim Bau wurde dies berücksichtigt. Ein weiteres schönes Element ist das Fresko von Franz Josef Karl Felfer (1927 - 2001) und die verglaste Wand zwischen Foyer und Vorführraum. Bis heute ist das Kino im original Stil der fünfziger Jahre erhalten.
Zu Beginn wurden zwei Wochenschauen gezeigt - damals gab es noch kein Fernsehen - anschließend wurden Filme wie Charly Chaplin und Dick und Doof, Trickfilme, und Kulturfilme vorgeführt. Die Filme wurden nonstop wiederholt; Besucher konnten zu jeder Zeit ein und aus gehen. Das Kino war damals schon wichtiger Treffpunkt in Graz. Später gab es Filme wie "Bambi", "Bruce Lee", "Bud Spencer und Terence Hill" und "Zombies". Seit Ende der 70er Jahre wurden Sexfilme geboten, begünstigt durch großen Bedarf und die Lage am Hauptbahnhof. Begonnen wurde mit Lederhosenfilmen und deutschen oder französischen Produktionen, später wurden Sexfilme mit all den bekannten Pornodarstellereinnen wie "Pussy Gallore, Ciciolina, Teresa Orlovski, Dolly Buster" gezeigt. Zu dieser Zeit befand sich auch ein Kaffeehausbetrieb mit Casino im Kino und das NonStop war wiederum ein wichtiger Treffpunkt. Fragt man Grazer oder Steirer nach dem Nonstop Kino, die meisten kennen das Kino und waren schon einmal dort.
Seit dem Jahre 2000 wurde mit multimedialen Experimenten begonnen. Die traditionelle Begleitung von Stummfilmen mit Live-Musik wurde wiederbelebt. Die Verbindung mit Pornographie, bildender und darstellender Kunst, Tanz und Philosophie bzw. Religion wird vor allem auch von internationalen Künstlern geschätzt und als Gesamtkunstwerk wahrgenommen. Z.B. wurde der Film "Spew it out your soul" auf Anregung von Bettina Aichbauer von Peter Doherty für seinen Auftritt von ihm produziert ( siehe http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Doherty). Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Verbindung von Film und Musik (Musikvideos, Musikfilmen, Dokumentationen, Visuals, Vj'ing, Jugendkultur-Treffpunkt, internationalen Künstlern). Das Nonstop ist ein Platz für Musiker und Filmemacher und interessiertes Publikum.
